Summary of Position

Responsible for the billing and processing of paperwork for out-bound trailers. Runs reports for forklift drivers and the prime line to keep them updated on the truck schedule. Updates all orders for trucks daily and prepares them for the check in process. Serves as a backup with the processing of SpeeDee/UPS customer orders and with the processing of customer returns. To perform any and all other duties as requested.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Process paperwork for all outbound trailers, input necessary information to the online system to generate billing.

Organize orders as they come in from the planning department.

Determine what items from the customer orders need to be entered on the reports for the different areas in shipping and the prime line.

Generate a pick list for finished jambs and all orders that need to be staged for outbound trailers.

Enter all backorders in the sequence generated and ensure that they go on the next outbound trailer for its destination.

Work with customer service representatives in processing change requests for customer orders.

Perform cycle counts on finish good inventory and adjust quantities as necessary.

Understand all functions of processing SpeeDee/UPS customer orders, the processing of customer returns and serve as a back up to personnel who perform this function.

Answer customer calls, forward information to proper personnel.

Communicate daily work progress to the supervisor, and notification of any and all billing discrepancies.

Set up all LTL shipments with the carriers each day.

Qualifications and Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Knowledgeable of basic computer functions, ability to type. Basic knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Physical Assessment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk long distances throughout an eight-hour work day, including working a self-motivated pace, performing repetitious motions in short undetermined lengths of time. The employee must grasp and lift pieces or bundles of finished product weighing between 16 lbs. and 75 lbs. Must be able to physically lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.


  • Ability to perform all the physical job tasks listed under the physical assessment.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of tape measures, calculator and the ability to learn basic computer functions.
  • Responsible and self-motivated, good attendance record.
  • Ability to keep an organized filing system and work area.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize jobs and tasks to be completed throughout the day.
  • The ability to follow instructions with precision and work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, works well with others, and able to be a team player.
  • The ability to read and understand customer orders.
  • Knowledgeable of the company’s products/profiles and of which departments they are manufactured.
  • Knowledgeable of the company tally sheets and their use.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $14.50 to $15.80 /hour
