Operates Weining grinders and other types of sharpening equipment to maintain tooling throughout the plant. Prepare tooling according to production schedules. Assist with maintenance, training and housekeeping of the grinding room.


Reads work orders to determine tooling needed to produce various types of wood profiles.

Creates digital drawings of cutting heads in AutoCAD Light.

Sets up and grinds heads for profiles

Balances tooling and heads

Tooling transfer from grinding room to production areas

Performs inspections of tooling, inspecting for damage, wear, and change tooling when worn.

Assis with the purchasing of tooling and materials

Trains and assists in orientation of newly hired employees

Performs housekeeping functions to maintain a clean and well-organized work area.

Works with others to set up upcoming production runs.

Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

Suggest changes in working condition and use of equipment to increase shop efficiency

Communicates, maintains effective relationship with management and co-workers

Basic understanding of AutoCAD light

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Possess strong mechanical aptitude and able to use hand tools, calipers, read production schedules, equipment and safety manuals and measuring instruments.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training.


Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
