General Production Worker

Location: Rice, MN

Summary of Position

Work with limited supervision in a team environment and perform many duties assigned by the supervisor. Must meet work and production schedules while producing products to customer specifications and expectations. Assumes responsibility of positions assigned, performs duties in a safe manner producing products meeting all quality standards and production output. Maintains communications associated with activities of the department and employee relationships supporting company goals. Advancement possible.

Responsibilities and Duties

Positions available are on a rotation basis

  • Stacking lumber from conveyor to carts by size, width and species.
  • Stack mouldings and species according to specified quantity per bundle.
  • Defect marking, using chop saw to remove defect, and running lumber through moulder.
  • Completes production records indicating quantity, footage produced, profiles, species, etc.
  • Pulling scrap pieces from working areas as needed.
  • Performs banding functions securing piles for transporting.
  • Performs inspection procedures of handling / banding equipment, changes tooling when worn.
  • Other duties may be assigned; employees may be transferred to other departments as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to read and follow outlined production schedules.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience working in fast paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to physically lift and or move up to 75 lbs; able to stand, twist and bend for long periods of time..
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, and overtime when necessary.
  • Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen

Jamb Assembly and Kitting Worker

Location: Rice, MN

Summary of Position:

The Jamb Assembling/Kitting Worker is expected to work with limited supervision in a team environment and perform many duties assigned by the supervisor. Must meet truck schedules while assembling and kitting jamb sets quickly and accurately. Assumes responsibility of this position and performs duties in a safe manner while meeting good quality standards and accuracy. Maintains communications associated with all involved in the assembly process and CNC operations to obtain accuracy of jamb sets.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Read and understand orders that describe the jamb sets that are being assembled or kitted, knowing the difference between door swings and different types of machining.
  • Be familiar with species of wood.
  • Gather and bundle all components of jamb set orders for pre-finishing, gathering all items with accuracy to ensure all items needed for orders are included in the bundle.
  • Assemble and kit all regular frames, machined frames, pre-finished frames, etc., to meet truck schedules as needed.
  • Prioritize all jobs to complete jobs as needed.
  • Communicate with CNC operators and shipping personnel to ensure accuracy of jamb sets.
  • Use scanners and the computer on a daily basis to do unplanned moves, prod receipts, stock checks, etc.
  • Able to follow order instructions and kitting specifications as set forth by each customer.
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean and able to perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time with repetitive twisting, bending, and lifting. The employee must regularly lift jamb sets up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Repetitive use of plastic hand wrappers. Ability to push and maneuver material filled carts regularly.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months job related experience and/or training.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy; keep paperwork and material organized and work station clean and orderly.
  • Ability to work well with others, work as a team member and have good communication skills.
  • Be self-motivated, quality conscious, have a positive attitude and be opportunistic
  • Be a forward thinker; and keep an open mind, be open to changes that arise in this ever-changing area of jamb assembly/kitting.
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure accurately; skilled in the use of a nail gun, miter saw, and hand wrapper.
  • Ability to use a computer and scanner
  • Willing and able to work overtime as needed to complete jobs on time to meet truck schedules.
  • Be willing to perform other duties as needed.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to work all scheduled shifts Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30pm, and overtime when necessary.

Prime Line Operator

Location: Rice, MN

Summary of Position:

The Prime Line Operator is expected to work with limited supervision in a team environment and perform many duties assigned by the supervisor. Must meet work and production schedules while producing products that meet customer specifications and expectations. Assumes responsibility of positions assigned, performs duties in a safe manner producing products meeting all quality standards and production output. Maintains communications associated with activities of the department and employee relationships supporting company goals

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Set up and operate prime line to produce finished mouldings that meet the requirements of the customer.
  • Monitor priming operations in order to identify flaws such as blisters and streaks so that their causes can be corrected.
  • Monitor application of primer to minimize waste of material.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble pump and spray heads to maximize life span of equipment
  • Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
  • Assist in training and orientation of newly hired employees.
  • Read production schedules, equipment and safety manuals and measuring instruments, must be able to fill out production reports.
  • Determine ways to improve safety and efficiency of operating prime line, and quality of product.
  • Repair defective material by sanding, puttying, touching-up defective product
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean and other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to operate machinery safely and determine when maintenance is needed.
  • Experience in wood manufacturing or machine operating.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and read a tape measure

Requirements:

  • Must be able to physically lift and or move up to 75lbs frequently; stand, twist and bend for long periods of time.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts Monday-Friday, this is a 2nd shift position, training will be done on day shift.
