Flat Profiles

A "Flat Casing and Base" are a signature often used in "Craftsman" or "Mission" design. This style calls for very clean lines, flat surfaces and minimal profiling.

Red oak, shown here, with its interesting and attractive graining contrasts nicly with the simple lines of this stye. The lack of profiling allows the natural beautify of the wood to stand out, whatever the species.

The example shown here has a 3 1/4" casing and a 5 1/4" base. These sizes are well suited for rooms with 9' ceilings, or rooms of larger proportions.
