Hickory

Hickory
Hickory is often associated with a less formal, rustic decorating style. The main characteristic about this species is the wide range of color found within each piece and from piece to piece. Most often the product is finished in a clear coat to emphasize this characteristic. Hickory's length structure is good with some 16' lumber with heavy concentration in the 8' -12' range. Widths up to 7" are available.

Hickory is used here as a flat casing and a flat base with a walnut backband, F1910, from our Craftsman Collection Series.

This doorway was framed in a simple Mission or Craftsman style with hickory S4S and a square backband.

Hickory is a heavy wood and even more durable than red oak.
